Perros in the Breton language means ‘Cap or extremity descending to the sea.’. This chic resort perches on a rocky peninsula; it is an exclusive town, flanked by a sheltered new marina and an old fishing port. The town of Perros-Guirec is home to 3 sandy beaches offering panoramic views of the 7 islands situated opposite at sea. The population of the town is around 8,000 but the amount of residence during the summer season multiplies by 8! The reason for its popularity is its unspoiled and natural coastal charm, which lies in a protected area of Brittany where sea otters still feel at home. In 2007 Perros-Guirec was voted best sea-side resort in France by the well known French magazine ‘le Nouvel Observateur’.  Baking on the beach, chilling in a café or mastering the art of windsurfing are among the activities on offer, but by far the best is exploring the coastline on foot.
